As you leave shake off the dust that is on your feet

Frozen is not counted among my favourite Disney movies. Her reaction to the situation must have hit too close to home. Throw a tantrum, run off to be alone and build up walls to prevent anyone from getting close.
Today’s gospel, while overwhelmingly speaks to trusting in God, also shows a little kernel of let it go, walk away, move on. Jesus says, “If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them”. So maybe they can have peace and keep journeying.
As I strive to improve my emotional maturity, my goal must also be to truly let go of whatever is bothering me, to have peace.
I pray today for the grace to get through any situation and ‘shake off the dust’ so I can keep focused on Jesus’ heart and doing His will.
