How much time do we give to him?

Mark 3:7-12

“Jesus withdrew…to the lakeside.” He was besieged by so many wanting favours and must be tired. Going by a lakeside then seemed ideal. He just did not want to be crushed as he performed miracles and drove demons out. What a saviour! He was making quality time for his followers as even now he makes time for you and me. He loves us so much. But how much time do we give to him? Time to get to know him better and deepen our friendship. What quality of time?

Jesus also gives a concrete example for Ministry in the church. We must be wise in ministry, so we do not suffer ‘burn out’ and become unable to provide quality service. While we must make time for others, we should be wise.

Jesus, we thank you for your unconditional love for us. Forgive us for the times when we are so caught up in doing good that we neglect quality time with you. Help us to be among those who really seek you in spirit and in truth.
