Sunday January 14th: The Saviour is coming.

John looked towards him and said, ‘Look, there is the lamb of God.’

John1:35-42

JB, John the Baptist nah, he tried to tame our fears. Yes, the saviour is coming. He’s coming after me. But for years we lived with that gnawing doubt. Doubt after doubt unending, unnerving. We were beginning to think that we will die without that feeling in the stomach telling you that everything will be all right, that salvation is assured, that the kingdom will come.

Doubt, self-doubt kills worse than bad cells in the body.

We worked hard, caught fish, lived, but that certainty was missing. Then he appeared. John bowed and said he was unfit to undo the straps of his sandals. We saw him as he passed and followed him to where he lived. We stayed and talked all night long. We talked until sunrise and then we knew, this coffee was the real brew; we felt it in our bones. Now is the time!

The scales fell away from our eyes; we dropped our nets, left our father in the boat; who is my father anyway. Yes, yes, yes. Honour the turning point of your life.
