Wednesday December 27th: Ours in life and death!

Blessed be the Lord who has visited His people and redeemed them. Alleluia!

John 20:1-8

Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus juxtaposed with the Resurrection. In the dark of the night, rejected by most and loved by a few, we celebrate the birth of the Lord. In the dark of the night, rejected by most and loved by a few, Jesus conquered death.
John, the Beloved, is often depicted leaning on Jesus, contemplating His words. His love for the Lord quickened the steps of his heart to stay in the presence of God, no matter the cost; to seek his Beloved being drawn deeper and deeper into the Heart of God.
Intercede for us dear St John, the Beloved of the Lord that our hearts shall always ponder on the Love the Father has for us by sending His Son into the world to save us and there we shall proclaim: “the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. Alleluia!
