Wednesday December 20th: God’s will

“…nothing is impossible to God.”

Luke 1:26-38

Try to imagine Mary’s response to the angel’s message. Was it with pale face all flushed; palms sweating; and eyes wide open perhaps tears streaming down her face? She was deeply disturbed. Confused! After all, she was a very young girl, so her innocent response was in order. Yet she ended the angel’s visit with, “I am the Handmaid of the Lord.”
The angel’s reassurance and her own deep faith and love of God would have convinced her that she would be alright. “Mary, do not be afraid…for nothing is impossible to God.” Mary’s fiat further sealed it: “…Let what you have said be done to me.” Wow! God’s Will. God’s chosen!
How do I respond when my spirit tells me a word/situation/other is of God? I ask God to increase my faith so whatever He sends me would be received with trust. He knows best. It doesn’t happen overnight for most of us but in time and listening always to Him.
