Monday November 27th: Freely, freely, give✨

“These have all put in money they could spare, but she in her poverty has put in all she has to live on. “

Luke 21:1-4

Sometimes, we feel it’s okay to give God whatever time we have leftover in the day. Most times by then, however, we’re so exhausted, we fall asleep on “God’s time.”

We spend our most productive years building our families, our businesses, our homes.
We tell ourselves when we retire we’ll use our talents in the church.

We focus on amassing so much wealth. Yes, we give, but just skim off the top of the overflowing cisterns of our treasure.

Freely we have been given time; we have been given special talents; we have been given our treasures. Freely we too, in turn, should give.

As we give of our time, talent and treasure, may we give wholeheartedly, knowing that when we give, we give to the Lord. When we give Him our all, it tells Him that we trust Him to supply all of our needs. When we give of our time, talent and treasure, it shows Him that we love and care about the building up of His kingdom.

Heavenly Father, we pray for giving hearts. Amen.
