Sunday November 19th: Well done, good and faithful servant!

“You have shown you can be faithful in small things, come and join in your master’s happiness.”

Matthew 25:14-30

As I engage in my daily duties I try to perform to the best of my ability. God has entrusted me with his people to journey with them and to be faithful in both great and small circumstances.
At times, the wickedness and laziness inside of me slow me down and create havoc in my spiritual journey. Then I feel like the “good -for-nothing” servant when I am self-absorbed and see my wretched exacting self.
The Lord is reminding me that he will hold me accountable on Judgment Day for my life and the lives of those whom he has entrusted to me.
God has given resources to each of us in proportion to our abilities and they are already blessed. God is summoning us to be good and faithful servants regardless of the amount that we have received.
Father, we desire to join in your happiness. We pray for the grace to be satisfied with the talents/gifts which we have received and for the grace to use them wisely. May we hear your words, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
