In the movie, Sound of Freedom, this line was used to refer to the scourge of child trafficking that torments our modern world. Children make up to 27% of all human trafficking victims worldwide, and two out of every three identified child victims are girls.
Whether Jesus had this in mind, when he made the statement, we cannot know, but what we can interpret is that – as Christians we must work against the exploitation of our neighbour. In Matthew 22:39 Jesus exhorts us to – Love your neighbour as yourself!
The passage goes on to urge us to work against such sins, knowing that even with the faith of a mustard seed there is no evil that we cannot overcome.
