“Ten wedding attendants took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were sensible.”
Matthew 25:1-13
A little more oil in my lamp keeps it burning. Keep it burning with wick trimmed and oil replenished from my back-pocket flask; lampshade cleaned with a sheet of the daily gazette; shiny and new; ready for what the darkness of the evening will bring. While we keep watch.
Yuh cyar surprise the spiritually prepared. We are trauma ready. Seasoned by life’s ups and downs. Nothing fazes us; we will walk all night and never grow weary. You will not hear us complain, keeping watch. To complain is like a slap to the face of God. We will stand our ground. Yes, steady like a soldier.
We did learn something from Job. Everything may be lost. But who steal my purse, just as ah come out from the bank, steal trash; they drink the devil’s pee. That money will run through dem like a dose of salts. We, yes, we will grieve our loss and turn in gratitude to Him, who alone sustains life. For this we are grateful. He will come even now while we stay awake keeping watch.
