The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) of Trinidad and Tobago will host the Grand Finale of its bi-annual Gospelypso Competition on November 26, from 6.30 p.m. at the Southern Academy of the Performing Arts. All are invited. The theme of the competition is: Catholics on Fire for Christ.

Come and hear the Good News proclaimed through different styles of Calypso music supported by the Police Band of Trinidad and Tobago, from 14 Catholic Gospelypso artistes including a guest performance by Winston Garcia from People of Praise.

Come and witness performances from various parishes in the north – Santa Cruz, Barataria, St Joseph and Coryal. You will also hear from Scarborough, Tobago, and parishes in the south such as New Grant, La Romaine, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Come and support the youth from St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain, and San Fernando, from St Benedict’s and Presentation Colleges in San Fernando, and Holy Faith Convent, Penal.

We encourage the youth, our students and Confirmation candidates of the Archdiocese to come and experience this event as it will be a great way to stay connected with your peers and the Church.

This event, the breathtaking renditions, and performances, and the very gathering itself has elements that will reignite the fire in us for Christ and His Church. Support your peers and be inspired to use your artistic gifts for the glory of God and to add your voices in a deliberate way to the work of evangelisation.

Scripture says, you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were no people but now you are God’s people” (1 Pt 1:9).

Congratulations to our artistes who have come out boldly to sing the praises of God as they testify to the power of God and to prophetically acclaim how we can be Catholics on fire for Christ.
