There is the need to prepare and stand ready for His return.
Luke 12:39-48
“Do you mean this parable for us or for everyone?” We may wonder why Jesus doesn’t seem to answer them as if to indicate that they have been with him for so long and should know his message is for everyone.
Something is quite evident in Jesus’ messages throughout the New Testament. There is the need to prepare and stand ready for His return. He gives all the guidelines, and…we who want to follow him must share with as many persons as possible. Those who hold positions of authority should be true to them and not betray their role.
A greater need, especially in these times, is to be more aware and awake to the needs of the ones we are called to serve by reason of our vocation. Too often, we can get caught up in the activities and externals of church and forget we are really working for God, and in preparation for Christ’s coming. Our attention to prayer and concern for the world are paramount.
