Luke 12:13-21
Today we reflect on the treasures of our life, things we hold dear and close to us. Can we recognize those ‘treasures’ that separate us from God? Do we see the ‘treasures’ that separate us from our brothers and sisters?
These ‘treasures’ are not always riches. It isn’t always money either. These ‘stored up treasures’ can be vices, prestige, fame, or power. They can be friends who put us in a position to be “laid up for many years”, who encourage us to live a life where we “relax, eat, drink, be merry”. For no matter how big our barn of comfort is, one day God will make demands of our souls that no material possession can answer.
Let us pray for wisdom in discerning the path to Christ in heaven. May we always want what God wants for us. And may we reject everything not of Him.
Amen
