Now the parable is this: “the seed is the word of God.”
Luke 8:4-15
Let us always pray for the Church. Many of us hear the parable of today’s reading and immediately think that the parable is speaking only to the words of Jesus or the words of Scripture. As the passage points out, “the seed is the word of God.” But may we never forget that the Word of God is also The Church. Yes, the word of God is Jesus, but isn’t the Church the Body of Christ?
As such, let us take a moment to remember those who have fallen away from the Church. Let us pray for those who no longer trust the Church. We even lift up those on “the good soil” that they may continue to be shining lights for the Church that Christ himself established.
Let us continuously pray, that they may continue to bear fruit “with patient endurance.” For the Church is alive, and Her words must be heeded. To love the Church is to love the Word of God, the Logos, Jesus Christ. Amen
