Today’s gospel passage says that Jesus went through towns and villages preaching and healing. He healed several women of evil spirits and ailments, and they became active participants in His ministry.
The first lesson from this passage is the transforming power of encountering Jesus. These women, once bound by evil spirits and infirmities were healed and made whole by Jesus. No matter our past or present struggles, Jesus welcomes and restores us.
The second lesson is the dedication of these women. They not only followed Jesus but provided for him. Their commitment went beyond words; it extended to their actions and resources. When we give out of love and gratitude for what Christ has done for us, our resources become a tool for advancing His mission and serving others in need.
The third lesson is about the role of women in ministry. In the culture of that time, women were marginalized and their contributions overlooked. However, Jesus welcomed these women and included them in His ministry. He recognized their worth.
