Camp Joyful Catholic is an initiative of St Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church that envisioned the First Communion Team building relationships with God and each other through the engagement of fun and faith formation.
The two-week camp, July 17 -31 was ably led by First Communion Catechist, Erica Tracey and Catechetical Coordinator, Beverley Findley under the guidance and support of dynamic Parish Priest Fr Cornelius Phillip.
Each morning the children opened with prayer, praise and worship followed by circle time where they were encouraged to share something that inspired them and made them realise God’s presence at work in their lives.
Afterwards, the children looked at videos from the Blessed Catholic Programme and discussed topics such as Creation and the highest form of worship, the Mass. They creatively expressed their understanding of these topics by engaging in dancing, Sip and Paint and craft exercises.
