The good seed is the subjects of the kingdom
Matthew 13: 36 – 43
During the pandemic, I tried to pick up home gardening. At the same time, some neighbours planted okra and peas in a field in the area and left it.
I was not very successful but the okra and peas, that had no-one tending it, grew very tall and bore a lot.
So, what does it mean to be a good seed? Those that thrive seemingly on their own or those that need to be nurtured and tended? A real farmer might say it depends on what you’re trying to grow.
In the end, only God knows and in Genesis 1 and John 15 our call is to be fruitful. Share our time, talents and treasure. Do good works at home and in the community to build up the Church for God’s glory.
I pray today that I may be open to the ways I can be fruitful that I may be counted as a good seed.
Amen.
