Thursday July 27th: Heaven will not be served on a silver platter.

The more we empty ourselves, the more we are infused with wisdom, understanding and the desire for everlasting life.

Matthew 13:10-17

What is it the disciples had that would be the basis for abundance? An openness to God and all He wanted to offer. They loved God in their raw, unpurified state. David committed grievous acts in His weakness, yet God called him a man after His own heart and Jesus descended from David’s lineage.
It is through this openness to receive, that the Holy Spirit will lead us to the Truth by revealing and explaining the mysteries of our Faith. The more we empty ourselves, the more we are infused with wisdom, understanding and the desire for everlasting life. The little grace we have will be multiplied when we open our hearts to the Lord.
Our unwillingness to be open leads to emptiness and death – a barren wasteland. Our seeds of faith begin to die from a lack of Living Water.
O God, melt our hearts and give us the desire to love You above all.
