There was a break-in at the Church of the Assumption, Maraval and an attempted break-in at the parish office on Tuesday (July 25) sometime between 3 – 4 a.m.
Parish Priest Fr Ashton Pierre told The Catholic News he is physically “fine” and nothing sacramental was taken or tampered with.
He was awakened to glass breaking and immediately contacted the St Clair Police.
A check of the premises indicated the front windows of the office were broken and the perpetrator/s attempted to pry the burglar proofing open.
The Catholic News asks faithful to keep Fr Ashton Pierre, the community and nation in prayer.
Police investigations are ongoing.
