This reminds me of persons that worked hard to earn a living and generate wealth for their future family, holding true to the morals and values they were raised on.
A few generations later, it sometimes gets lost, and that generation becomes entitled, lazy and wasteful taking it for granted that the wealth will always be there.
We are that generation! Not simply forgetting the stories of what God has done for us but losing the fire in our hearts that should push us to always want to be close to Him.
Going through the “Bible in a Year” podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz I see where this is sometimes me, and I am grateful for anything that reignites that fire within me to immerse myself in all things God.
Lord, I pray that I never take for granted loving and living for You, so that I may feast with you in heaven.
