Thursday June 29th: Yuh Promise?

“Who do you say I am?”

Matthew 16: 13-19

I have been through a lot. Too much sometimes for me to have a definitive answer to the question, “Who do you say I am?”
When I was young, I used to call Jesus my friend. When I was in a happy place, he was my everything, and when I had hit rock bottom, I said, “I have no idea who Jesus is”.
Our thoughts of Jesus have so much to do with where we are in life. how we see ourselves and what we think of God.
If you ever find yourself in a dark place, doubting everything you have ever known about God, think about Peter who knew exactly who Jesus was, but still denied him three times and yet, Jesus kept his promise to Peter, the rock on which he built his whole church.
If ever you find yourself in a dark place and doubt steps in, just hold on to the knowledge that Jesus will keep his promises to you.
