Tuesday June 20th: Make a Choice

“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Matthew 5 :43-48

June is usually examination time. Today we are faced with a multiple-choice question on how to treat with those who wrong us, those enemies we don’t deserve.

These are the usual options:
a) Get back at them so they will understand how it feel..
b) Blast them on social media so everybody will find out.
c) “Throw shade” for them so people could guess their identity.
d) Just blank them out totally and act as if they don’t exist.
e) Leave them to God.
Then Jesus decides to add another option. (God alone knows why!}
f) Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Really Jesus? Come on! … But wait! Is this the ‘distractor’ or the correct answer which requires higher level thinking?…

We need to work it out ourselves based on the premise that Jesus would have also said, “Love one another as I have loved you.”

Lord, help us to make the right choice so we will get a passing grade. This exam is critical.
