Gianna Griffith is a 16-year-old Form Five student at the San Fernando Central Secondary School and lead vocalist with the Adeste Fideles Youth Music Ministry at the St Benedict’s RC Church, La Romaine.
Gianna, who will be writing the CSEC Exams in May/June 2023, is a talented and disciplined student who was the Championship winner in the Musical Theatre and Religious Solo classes respectively, in the Trinidad and Tobago National Music Festival held in March/April 2022.
Gianna placed second and was adjudged the winner of the best locally composed song, in the Finals of the More Than Just Talent (MTJT) Independence Competition, held on August 28, 2022 at the Naparima Bowl.
She was also recently crowned Ms Sanfest 2022, in the Mr & Ms Sanfest competition, held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the San Fernando City Hall Auditorium, winning all three categories: Introduction, Talent and Interview, en route to the title.
Gianna along with other members of a team, will represent Trinidad and Tobago in the World Championships of Performing Arts to be held in Anaheim, California, USA, from July 26 to August 7, 2023, an event cited as the ‘Official Talent Olympics of the World’ for aspiring performers and entertainers.
A Mother’s Day Tea Party and Concert will be held 4 – 6 p.m. at the St Benedict’s RC Church, La Romaine on Sunday, May 14, to raise funds that will assist her and Josiah Ferrier, another member of the Adeste Fideles Youth Ministry, who will also be making the trip to California.
