“Where did this man get such wisdom?”
Matthew 13: 54 – 58
After reading and hearing this passage so many times over the years, this is the first time this line has struck me.
Reminiscent to the finding of Jesus in the temple, “and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers” (Luke 2:47).
The understanding we (as a church) have now that Jesus is both fully human and fully divine just makes my heart jump to hear Him called “man”, which came across with such derision when I read it.
I often wonder, would I have believed at that time? I am truly grateful to have been born after He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to proclaim unwaveringly that He is not just Lord but our risen Lord.
I pray that as we walk with Christ during this Easter season that our hearts burn with love for our Lord so that He may work His mighty deeds in our lives.
