Chickland RC students sacrifice for the poor

The tenets of prayer, fasting and almsgiving are integral to the Lenten journey. At Chickland RC Primary school, we observed these with an emphasis on prayer and almsgiving. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, students were encouraged to give up part of their spending money daily. At term’s end, a tidy sum was collected, and this was donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society of the Lady of Mt Carmel RC Church, St Mary’s Junction, Freeport.
