Tuesday April 18th: The Wind

“The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes, so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)

John 3: 7b-15

I sit and stare.
Gently,
The wind dances through my hair.
He tosses it up and down,
And twists it all around
At times, it seems,
To His very own song…

It touches my face
With a cool embrace.
I fly my kite and I smile,
As He carries it off high.
Way past the trees,
He sends all the children’s bubbles
And my troubles
Through all the leaves
And sets them free…

He dances on our lips
And breezes past our fingertips
Even though he drifts away
I’ll be alright, I’ll be okay.
Sometimes gentle, sometimes tough
Today he is not very rough.
But there are times, quite frequently,
That he knocks me off my feet.

I’ll never know why
He goes… Or where he flies,
Or how he blows me from side to side,
And yet, other times he hides.
I feel the warmth reaching my ear
I listen. I hear…
We are Easter people!
The song of joy is in the air
I sit. I stare.
As the wind runs gently
Through my hair.
