Holy Thursday
“ Jesus’ hour had come to pass from this world to the Father, having loved those who were His in this world, loved them to the end.”
John 13:1-15
Holy Thursday celebrates deep signs of the mystery of God’s love and the birthing of the Sacrament Most Holy. In the washing of the feet and the giving of His Body and Blood we find signs of Jesus’ service and love. His invitation is to allow Him to serve us, and to receive His Body and Blood.
Let’s imagine Him washing our feet, allowing His warmth to engulf us as He touches us in service and loving care. He wants to be close to us like this. His invitation is that we be as open to Him in love as He is to us.
Let us go a step further today and give thanks for the service of anyone who has brought us close to God. Engage them in your memory; allow your heart to be enlarged in gratitude to them and to God whose love works with and through them.
