Fr Shijo Abraham MSFS and the Parish of Our Lady of Montserrat, Tortuga hosted its 10th Lenten Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, March 4 at Omardeen Auditorium, Cipero Street, San Fernando. Building Community, Dialogue and Inclusivity was the overarching theme and what a spirit-filled and joyous occasion it was!
St Anthony’s Church Music Ministry led by Marceline Peters ushered us into God’s gates with thanksgiving and praise and our souls were filled with spiritual food dished out by Fr Steve Ransome.
Even more special was God’s providence as Fr Ransome was our inaugural speaker, 12 years ago at the Tortuga Presbytery in 2012.
From humble beginnings with the support of Fr Steve Duncan, the Parish Priest at that time, the Sacred Heart Youth Music Ministry (Gasparillo) was commissioned to use this event as not only a fundraiser but a source of building solidarity among the seven communities within the parish.
Since then, this Music Ministry has been tasked with creating a new experience at each prayer breakfast and keeping it as a mainstay during the Lenten season.
The Prayer Breakfast Team wishes to acknowledge all our parish priests, our parents, extended families, church families, the parish communities, friends, service providers, the choirs and speakers who participated through the years and contributed to its success in winning souls for the kingdom, whilst contributing financially to the church upkeep. May God continue to bless and sustain you always. —Andrea Douglas
