Thursday January 26th: Let your light shine!

“ For there is nothing hidden but it must be disclosed, nothing secret except it be brought to light.”

Mark 4: 21-25

“Everything in de dark bound to come to light!” That was always sound teaching coming to us from Ma. We knew one time that we couldn’t cut corners and we had to come straight! Jesus intimates such in today’s Gospel passage.

The truth of who he is and what he stands for cannot be glossed over, hidden under a tub or bed. If we are true witnesses to his truth then it is our responsibility to ensure that we make him known not only by what we say but by the example of our lives. There should be no room for half truths and innuendos. In the natural realm, light penetrates and dispels darkness. So too, our spiritual lives must be a reflection of Christ Our Light. .

Lord, we bring the lamp of our lives and place it on the lamp stand in full view of all. Whenever the flame flickers, by your grace provide the oil that will keep it burning to illuminate the way. Amen
