Bishop urges faithful to make a game plan for 2023

BARBADOS

Make a plan for 2023 and commit to deepening your faith. That was the advice from Bishop Neil Scantlebury of Bridgetown as he delivered the homily on Old Year’s Night at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Jemmotts Lane, St Michael.

If we want a change, if we want it to be different from 2022, then we must have a game plan, the Bishop said.

“What is your game plan? If you don’t have a game plan, don’t expect anything different than what you’ve been getting in 2022. When you get it in 2023, do not grumble about it because you and I have not made a plan for a change for the better,” the bishop said, according to a Nation News report.

Bishop Scantlebury then invited persons to spend more time in prayer, praying the rosary, reading the Word of God and Christianity podcasts: the Bible In A Year and the Catechism In A Year.

“Let us work on being more hospitable, let us work on forgiving others, let us go to Confession more often, let us forget the online Mass and let us come to church together and pray together,” Bishop Scantlebury said.
