Wednesday October 12th: Do as I say not as I do

“You pay no attention to judgment and to love for God”

Luke 11: 43-46

My father was a champion pepper eater. He used to cut a red congo pepper to eat at the side of his dhal and rice and bhaji when he came home from work. I loved my dad and would sit across from the chair and stare at him. But the day I thought of eating a pepper like he did, he would hit my hands and admonish me.
Sometimes church leaders don’t realize that we are so busy emulating their actions that we are unable to act on the advice given to us from the altar. The simple reason that happens is because they themselves do not live out the words that they often preach.
Let us pray for hearts and minds that not only preach the word of God but live them out as well. Let us pray for the grace of becoming true believers, not because we can recite the word, but live out every aspect.
