The Archdiocese of Nassau has extended condolences to the family of a girl who died after a swing set fell on her at a church playground.
In a press release dated September 9, the Archdiocese said it was “deeply saddened to learn of the unfortunate incident resulting in the death of a minor on the grounds of St Bede’s RC Church last evening” (September 8).
The release continued, “Every life has dignity. Every life is precious. Bearing this in mind, we offer our deepest condolences and the support of our prayers to the family of the deceased and to the entire community.”
According to a brief report published online by the Nassau Guardian, Bahamian Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe said, “a little girl died last night from injuries sustained after a swing set fell on her”. No other details were available except that the victim was either six or eight years old.
