St Dominic’s RC receives school supplies from donor

More than 60 students at St Dominic’s RC Primary, Morvant, were gifted school textbooks, stationery, school uniforms, book bags and other school supplies by past pupil Denise Grant. The handing over ceremony was held at the school compound on Saturday, August 20.

Grant is a mother of five and has resided in Miami for over 23 years where she is a nurse at the Jackson Memorial Hospital. She stated that she has been tremendously blessed over the years and wanted to give back to the students of the institution where she received her educational foundation.

In June, she contacted school principal Nathalie Faria who welcomed the initiative and together they planned and organised the event. Grant credited the generosity of her co-workers and pledged to continue to donate to the school.

On hand to witness the distribution were Sterling Jacobs, Quality Assurance Officer and Vicariate Manager from the Catholic Education Board of Management, teachers, and parents. Jacobs urged parents to maximise the use of these resources during the academic year and to support their children and the school.
