For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these
Matthew 19: 13-15
One of my granddaughters is at the stage of life called the “terrible twos.” I do not believe that Jesus is asking us to revert to a stage of personal growth when we discover our individual separation from our mother.
Personal development involves a gradual maturation, physically, psychologically, intellectually and spiritually. However, in our growth we can lose trust and become closed in on ourselves.
I believe Jesus is saying that the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who trust in being led into a relationship with him. He desires for us a relationship in which he places his hands on us.
The kingdom of heaven belongs to those who, like children, are trusting and willing to let down their burdens and pain and enter into a relationship with Jesus. There they will find rest.
