The Holy Faith Convent, Penal Alumnae Association (HFCPAA) is an organisation with a Vision “to ensure a legacy of excellence and service” which includes “strategic collaboration between Holy Faith Convent Penal (HFCP) and the HFCPAA. To ensure this vision one day becomes a reality, we have 8 missions to support it. Missions 6 and 8 “Celebrating and building HFCP traditions of excellence in every field of endeavour” and “Strengthening, maintaining and promoting Hospitality, Friendliness, Courtesy and Service, reflective of core HFCP values” (as per www.hfcpalumnae.org), were most recently seen in action at our Form 1 Welcome Event.
The HFCPAA began hosting a Welcome Event for the new intake of Form One students last year, in 2021 as a means of welcoming the newest members of the Holy Faith family. We wanted to ensure the students had a memorable first day on the compound and seize the opportunity to plant seeds of HFCP Pride. It was so well received by the girls and their parents/guardians, we decided to make it an annual tradition. On July 7 and 8, 2022, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Holy Faith Convent, Penal Alumnae, well-wishers and corporate sponsors, the HFCPAA was able to gift 105 students with welcome packages consisting of stationery, feminine hygiene products, antibacterial wipes, snacks, sanitisers, geometry sets, and HFCPAA branded water bottles in the five (5) house colours, all in HFCPAA-branded drawstring bags.
Additionally, students were also given cupcakes (all made by past students) and Smalta drinks along with a special keepsake photo of them and their parent/guardian to take home. Members of the HFCPAA came out to organise the packages the day before registration began; and then on both registration days to excitedly welcome and literally cheer and congratulate our little sisters on becoming a part of this lasting legacy. It was truly a special moment for all members present especially when we saw HFCP Alumnae now bringing their daughters into the fold. The appreciation and wonder of the girls and their parents/guardians motivate us to continue in our efforts.
The HFCPAA wishes to extend our sincerest gratitude to every person who contributed to the success of this venture, whether in cash, kind or effort, and we look forward to your continued support in our future endeavours. Special thanks to the Principal, Sharon Francois-Ransome and the Board of Management of the Holy Faith schools for continuing to support our efforts in supporting HFCP. We also wish to specially thank our corporate sponsors: Office Authority, Smith Robertson & Company Limited and Holiday Foods.
Again, to our new #GirlsinMaroon, we say congratulations, welcome and best of luck on this new journey!
