Register now for “Communications School” – CSCC 2022

The Caribbean School for Catholic Communications (CSCC) is on from August 1–6 virtually on Zoom with the year’s theme Connecting the docs.

Participants will be taught how to connect the messages in Church documents e.g., Laudato Sí, Fratelli Tutti, and apply them and create media content using online tools and posting across platforms. This will be done through learning to produce videos and stories, applying trendy filters, utilising Canva, (used to create social media graphics, presentations) and making TikTok videos/reels.

Principal of CSCC, Station Manager Trinity TV Lisa Bhajan said, “CSCC is virtual again this year. As the theme indicates, we hope to assist communicators in Connecting the Docs, utilising the thinking of Pope Francis and especially his emphasis on theology of the people, as expressed in Fratelli Tutti.”

Sr Angela Ann Zukowski MHSH, University of Dayton will again be the main speaker focusing on integrating the Church documents into communication messages for pastoral ministry.

Bhajan said, “Participants will be involved in interactive sessions with CAMSEL’s [Catholic Media Services Ltd] experienced digital team, creating TikTok and IG reels and connecting the docs through the digital ecosystem.”

Bhajan will add the practical and creative elements of production. Theological reflection will be offered at the start of each day with Living Water Community members.

Sessions will be held Monday, August 1 – Friday 5 at 6.30 – 8.30 p.m. (GMT-4) and Saturday, August 6: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., 4 – 6 p.m. (GMT-4). Course fee US$50.
