‘Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.’
Matthew 10: 24-33
In today’s gospel Jesus gives us four clear instructions on how we should live. The first is: The disciple is not superior to his teacher nor the slave to his master. We should always be humble
Next he says: Everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. When you hear the Good News, do not keep it to yourself but spread it abroad.
He follows then with: Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Jesus gave us the example when he resisted the devil’s temptation.
Finally, he instructs us: If anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven. He will give our eulogy to his Father.
