“The rumour went out among the brothers that this disciple would not die.”
John 21: 20 -25
Today’s gospel shows us how easy it is for a rumour to start.
We have all seen how destructive false information can be. We have also seen rumours and false information weaponized against democracy and public health measures.
How can we be part of the solution?
I wish I had the answers. These are somethings I try .
I make sure I understand what I heard or read. I pray to God to send me His Holy Spirit of Wisdom and understanding.
I try never to repost anything that I didn’t first verify.
I continue to pray for humility. It is so easy to feel powerful and wise when we think we know what others, especially experts don’t know.
Lord, protect me from pride.
