Peace may only be realized through unity.
John 17:20-26
We are in the final week of the Easter Season 2022. The Solemnity of Pentecost is next. Jesus promised His disciples that He must go so that the Holy Spirit will come to teach them everything. We saw that every time He encountered them after the Resurrection He always greeted them with “Peace”. We all know that peace may only be realized through Unity.
So, we are directed today to pray for Unity. In doing so we can all be one as we know the Trinity is one. Jesus places this model of oneness so that we can reap peace and love.
We live in a world that is plagued with disunity and crises. How can each of us contribute to bringing about harmony? My simple suggestion is to know ourselves and determine in what ways we are not fostering Unity. Thereafter we must seek to do our best with the Grace of the Trinity to encourage Unity in all undertakings.
Holy Spirit, help us to be one.
