Our shores were truly graced during the whirlwind visit of the Vocations Director of Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, a Franciscan Charismatic Religious Community based in the United States of America. Sr Ana Chiara’s brief visit had a very important purpose, which was essential for the process of accepting a young Trinidadian lady into their Franciscan order.
The Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, beautifully express their charism: “Called to witness to the Gospel, we seek to draw all people into a personal relationship with Jesus through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. This flows from a deep life of prayer, praise, and on-going conversion in loving commitment to one another.” The Sisters vow to observe Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience.
Sr Ana was given the full Trini hospitality tour. When she was taken to our famous Maracas Beach for bake & shark, her soul was moved to stand in the water, to pray the Holy Rosary. This poignant moment from a first-time visitor with rosary beads in hand, in humble supplication of Our Blessed Mother’s intercession, is hearteningly inspiring. Sr Ana joyfully lives her faith and humbly demonstrates her peace while in prayer, on Maracas Beach.
