No answer to this monstrosity
Luke 23: 1-49
Herod plied Him with questions but Jesus offered him no answer. Not a time to offer defence. Caught in a moment of convoluting forces and emotions; back and forth between Herod and Pilate, up and down with the crowd teetering on mob rule, burning tires in the street; quietly, He drank it all in.
Talk over; Jesus remained silent amidst this onslaught of monstrous proportions. He withdrew into the cave of His heart, His inner sanctuary, where God repairs his headpiece. From there he regained new strength to remember what he was sent here for, His sacred mission and purpose. ‘Stay Father, just remind me.’ Whether He was on the shore enabling his disciples to cast their net again, amidst the throng stopping to heal the blind man, sat down by Jacob’s well, tired but still listening deeply to the woman and her inner conflict. Healing forever, regardless of the weather: thief, centurion, anyone anytime, be healed. Come to me all you who are overburdened and I will give you rest. Father into your hands I commit my spirit.
