Tuesday February 22nd: You are the Son of God

You share in the mystery of Salvation

Matthew 16:13-19

Peter responded to Jesus with conviction, “You are the Christ the Son of the Living God.”
Peter’s confession of faith allowed him to become the guardian of the Church’s mission and teachings.
Peter receives his mission when Jesus said “You are Rock and on you I will build My Church”
You and I are linked to these words: “For he who sees the Father sees Me”. Peter’s response revealed who Jesus is.
It opens for us the call of God to share in the priestly ministry of Jesus as Priest, Prophet and King and to ‘go build the kingdom of God.’
Peter and the apostles are given the authority and power to forgive sins and are signs of unity for us as church.
If you are struggling with your faith, Peter’s response has opened for you the key to salvation.
Today open your heart for the living God has come to you.
