“This is the kind that can only be driven out by prayer.”
Mark 9: 14 – 29
Like the disciples, we sometimes wonder why our prayers do not seem to be helping our situations. It is important for us to be continuously developing our relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit through prayer.
This is what Jesus is saying to His disciples. He is telling them that they have not developed their prayer lives to where they are in union with Him so that He can work through them.
Throughout our lives we need to grow in prayer, vocal, meditative and contemplative, using all forms and all types. The final part of the Catechism of the Catholic Church is dedicated to prayer and should be read by all.
Lord Jesus, teach us to pray. Amen
