Participate in ‘Be Mine Moments’

By Ottrisha Carter

For some of us, when we think about the month of February, we immediately think of Valentine’s Day. Although this special day falls on February 14, the AFLC will give families the opportunity to celebrate love for the entire month.

A number of initiatives will be centred on Chapter 4 of Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia which highlights the theme of love. According to Pope Francis, “The love pledge is greater than any emotion, feeling or state of mind, although it may include all of these. It is a deeper love, a lifelong decision of the heart.”

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the AFLC’s ‘Be Mine Moments’. This challenge will give people the chance to share pictures or videos of themselves representing different types of love.

For example, pictures or videos showcasing love between parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, siblings, married couples and those courting will be highlighted everyday. Pictures or videos can be sent via WhatsApp to the AFLC’s contact number: 299-1047.

In addition, families are invited to tune in to ‘Conversations on Love’ which will be aired Mondays 2–2.30 p.m. on the AFLC’s social media platforms. Discussions will reflect on Amoris Laetitia and the manner in which love is experienced and shared in families.

The categories in which people will be interviewed are: single, couple, blended, grandparents and clergy/religious sisters. During these 30-minute sessions, viewers will gain a great variety of information as love experiences are shared openly.

Let’s not miss the opportunity to live out our call to love during this month dedicated to love. As Pope Francis states, “Even amid unresolved conflicts and confused emotional situations, they daily reaffirm their decision to love, to belong to one another, to share their lives and to continue loving and forgiving.”

Persons are invited to check out the AFLC on Instagram, Facebook and AFLC’s  website, aflcrc.org. Email familylife@catholictt.org or call/WhatsApp 299-1047.
