Sunday February 13th: He stood in their company

Listening from the heart translates into deliberate walking together into bigger communion.

Luke 6: 17, 20-26

Live with less. Strive less, achieve less, win less and use that extra energy to be at peace, to be satisfied; and then to share, to support, to drive a project to benefit those in need of bread.
The struggle to win boils up and eats up all our energy and then we are done. We win and then what. The loser often feels like a failure, planning to come back to get you. The struggle to win divides.
Listening is the great act of connection. Not listened-to closes off people into themselves. Not heard, not belonging, having nothing to offer, not part of the community.
Listening from the heart translates into deliberate walking together into bigger communion. The bigger the communion, the more present is the body of Christ. Just imagine a Mass where everyone lifts up a big host and shares in the prayers of consecration: ‘hoc est corpus meum’ and ‘blessed are ye that hunger now’ and then we go out and take bread to the hungry. Liturgy is magic. Listening spawns magic.
