“…Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
Luke 7:19-23
2000 years later and we are still asking the same question. Is He ‘the one’? After all He has done in the past and is still doing today, we are still not sure. Is He really the Messiah, the Redeemer, the one who came to bring us to righteousness through His saving power? If we believe that He is, then our lives would be different.
Like true disciples we would be following His commandment of Love…love of God and of our neighbours. We would be so busy living each day in accordance with His teaching that we would not have time being anxious about His second coming and when it will be. Did He not say that He will be coming as a ‘thief in the night’? So, during this season of Advent let us live righteous lives now, so that whenever He comes, He will find us ready and waiting in joyful hope.
Come Lord Jesus, come. Help us to be good stewards.
