‘The Lord is with you.’
Luke 1: 26-38
Today we see that the angel Gabriel tells Mary that God has chosen her for what she thinks Is impossible. She is a virgin and she has been chosen to bear a child. Obviously Mary ‘was deeply disturbed by these words’. The angel, however, assures her that all will be well for the Holy Spirit will come upon her.
Mary’s faith in God is such that she accepts with the words: Let what you have said be done unto me.
There are times in our life when we realise that we are called to do something that will be beneficial to our family, friends, or community but we think that we do not have the resources. The task seems impossible. It is in times like this that we need faith in the Lord and should we agree, we can expect that the Holy Spirit will come upon us and all will be well. We need the faith.
