Through the grace and movement of the Spirit disciples can show God’s presence any time or every time.
Luke 21: 29 – 33
Jesus compared the manifestation of the kingdom of God to the seasonal changes of the fig tree. It implies that things are associated. For example, a cloudy sky is associated with rain. A donation is associated with kindness. Forgiveness is associated with love.
The kingdom of God is associated with specific signs. When John sent his disciples to ask, Jesus told them: “Go back and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the Good News is proclaimed to the poor”. (Luke 7:22). When these and other kingdom signs are present, know that God is in our midst.
Unlike the fig tree which depends on the seasonal changes to bud and bear fruit, disciples depend on the Holy Spirit who is not limited to seasons and times. Through the grace and movement of the Spirit disciples can show God’s presence any time or every time.
