Luke 17: 1-6,
Today, Jesus gives us three of his basic teachings: Do not make the life of the little ones difficult, be always ready to forgive and use your faith wisely. They do not seem to be connected but this makes us think of a parent who is giving parting advice to the children before they leave home to go on their own to face the world.
When Jesus talks of the little ones, he refers to the poor, the destitute, the marginalized and those we tend to think are of little importance to us. So important it is for us not to make their life more difficult that if we are guilty of this misdemeanor we deserve a violent death.
He next reminds us to never fail to forgive, regardless of how many times we are wronged. Also, our problem of faith is not that we do not have enough but with the very little we think we have we can do great works.
