Luke 6: 12-19
Luke summarises Jesus’ way of life: prayer, forming his group of disciples, preaching and healing. In my weakness and many limitations, I ask for freedom and wisdom to achieve such a balance.
Jesus chose and called 1his disciples after some time of prayer. Consider what was in Jesus’ heart – the hope, trust and love that he had for his disciples as he chose them to be close to him. Let us allow Jesus to look on us in the same way and hear ourselves called and ask for grace to be able to respond fully from our heart.
When we are making decisions that will have a bearing on our life it is expected to feel lonely and anxious. However, if we turn to the Holy Spirit for guidance, we will be supported by the triune God who will help us with our thinking.
We pray that our daily prayer helps us to grow in understand the ways of God, allowing power to come out from him healing us all.
