Catholic Media Services Ltd has contributed $14,000 to the Archdiocese’s programme to improve education at RC primary schools during the pandemic. The contribution represents part proceeds of the sales of our August 29 special Independence edition.
Camsel GM Kathryn Tardieu informed the Archdiocese of Port of Spain’s Archbishop’s Appeal Office of the contribution saying, “We would like to direct it specifically to the Education fund as we feel strongly about supporting the youth in particular and the building of a future for them as we get out of this pandemic. We hope that our small contribution can help!”
Accepting the contribution on behalf of the Appeal, Jenny Lee replied, “These are such difficult times. But as people we have faith. Your organisation’s actions give us hope in the future for our children. Thank you so very much.”
The project, ‘The Archdiocese of Trinidad and Tobago Catholic Education Plan: Mitigating the effects of socio-economic development challenges through education’ aims to provide high quality education for children in the RC schools.
A flyer is being distributed throughout the Archdiocese inviting patrons to ‘Light the Way for Our Children’s Future’ (story appeared in CN October 17).
A candlewax seal attached to the flyer is to be sent back with the donation by November 20. All candlewax received will be melted to create six large candles for the six vicariates and representing the united community resolved to build a brighter future for the children.
